Recommendation for Eric Borders and ATX Painting: I am pleased to share our outstanding experience with Eric Borders and his company, ATX Painting, following a recent painting project at our home. Having lived in our house since 1994, we knew it was time for a significant update, especially on the second floor, which still had the original berber carpet and cabinet paint. Over the years, the doors, baseboards, and trim had been painted, though never all at once. Before installing new carpet, we wanted to ensure a thorough and careful paint job, so we had the existing carpet cut approximately 12 inches away from all baseboards upstairs (covering three bedrooms, the hallway, and the stairway landing). This allowed the painters to refresh the full baseboards and bathroom cabinets without risking damage or mess on our soon-to-be-installed new carpet. To find the right team, we solicited bids from four companies in the Driftwood, Wimberley, and Austin areas. We evaluated each on price, reviews/feedback, communication, their interest in our project, and the quality of their suggestions. Eric and ATX Painting stood out immediately. From our first meeting and throughout the bidding process, Eric was organized, professional, and communicated clearly. We appreciated that he operates a small but growing local business and took a genuine interest in our plans. Price-wise, ATX Painting was in the middle of the range, but Eric’s openness to product options and project scope, along with his attentive approach, impressed us. Initially, we requested bids for just the bathroom cabinets and all of the second floor baseboards, but after seeing Eric’s thoroughness, we decided to expand the project. We included all wood trim around the doors and windows, every interior door (bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets), and built-in cabinets in two bedrooms. This comprehensive approach ensured a seamless finish throughout the second floor. Professional Project Management and Execution: Once we finalized the bid, Eric scheduled his project manager, Gary, to visit our home and review the project details on-site. Gary was a delight to work with and proved to be a real asset to Eric’s team. He coordinated closely with the painting crew, kept the project organized, and ensured the team had what they needed to stay on task. Gary also took extra steps by building spray booths, identifying areas that needed repair or touch-ups, and even returned after the new carpet was installed to address any small dings or imperfections he noticed. His commitment to quality and follow-through was truly appreciated. The painters themselves were professional, efficient, and respectful of our home. They maintained a clean workspace and adapted to our family’s needs as they progressed through the project. Beautiful Results and Future Plans: The final results exceeded our expectations. Our second floor looks refreshed and beautiful, with every detail attended to. We are extremely satisfied with the work performed by Eric Borders and ATX Painting and will not hesitate to contact them for any future painting needs.
